The Lo Down: 11/26/25
Civic duty & cyber week damage...
Fashion
I don’t know about you, but my inbox is drowning in Black Friday emails and my brain is just one away from combusting. I’m trying to be intentional this year and avoid impulse buys. I’m keeping it practical and using the sales to restock my beauty and skincare staples (okay, and maybe to add a few new things to my wardrobe). Here are the sales I’m actually shopping:
The ETERNE sale sounds almost too good to be true at 70% off: my go-to baby tee for $25.50 (!!), the perfect white or black tank for $31.50, buttery soft winter-ready turtlenecks for under $45, and much much more.
Crown Affair (30% off a bundle of 3 products, 11/25-12/2); my top 3 picks are things I use almost every day: The Towel, The Texturizing Air Dry Mousse, and The Dry Shampoo
Sofie Pavitt (20% off sitewide, 11/24-12/1); I’m restocking on the Mandelic Clearing Serum, and the Clean Clean Cleanser
Simon Miller (25% off sitewide) has so many fun holiday-appropriate pieces: this skirt + tinsel sweater combo, and this very fun clutch
Now’s a great time to stock up on candles for yourself (or for gifting). I snagged a few from Bluemercury (tiered promotion: 20% off $200+, 25% off $800+, 30% off $1500+); I had just finished both this candle and this one recently, so I ordered fresh ones. They also have a lot of good gift sets.
Saks is running a pretty great gift card promo: Spend $150 and get a $75 Gift Card; Spend $500 and get a $125 gift card; Spend $1000 and get a $250 gift card (Use code BFRIGCSF; Valid 11/24-11/29). I’ve had my eye on this Simkhai top, it feels like the perfect time to finally pull the trigger on these, and I genuinely love any and all sweaters from Guest in Residence and Loulou de Saison
Probably an unpopular opinion, but I love Nike leggings. I’m grabbing these + these for 25% off.
J Crew is offering 40% off (and an extra 50% off (!!) sale styles). Lots of good deals to be had: this cute fair isle cardi, this impeccably chic taffeta skirt, some cozy holiday socks, what appear to be the perfect travel pant, a cardigan with an amazing flattering shape, leather gloves that you can use with your phone, and a dress that is perfect for any holiday gathering
And last but certainly not least, I restocked on my favorite Haus Labs concealer, and am excited to try the Precision Sculpt Shaping Balm Contour Stick (20% off sitewide)

Food & Drink
After a full week on jury duty (surprisingly riveting, midy chaotic, and something I’m now weirdly glad I did), I emerged with one unexpected skill: finding the best lunch options within a 10-minute radius of the Centre Street courthouses. Here’s the lineup that helped me make it through my civic saga:
Movies & TV
I saw an early screening of Hamnet last weekend, and given all the awards-season buzz, I really thought I’d like it more. It was slow, a bit boring, and undeniably sad. The cinematography was gorgeous, though, and Jessie Buckley’s performance was truly phenomenal. If you’re a Shakespeare buff, you may appreciate it more than I did.
I also streamed two movies last weekend that were both perfectly enjoyable (and very different from each other): The Roses and Twinless.
And in the spirit of trying to understand what the rave was about, I attempted to watch All Her Fault. Keyword: attempted. I got so bored I turned it off and have zero interesting in finishing it. Anyone else feel the same?
Culture
I visited two art exhibitions recently that I genuinely enjoyed: Monet and Venice at the Brookyn Museum (on thru 2/1/26) and Ruth Asawa: A Retrospective at MoMA (on thru 2/7/26). I’ll be honest - these aren’t my favorite museums overall, so I didn’t wander into the other exhibitions or permanent collections, but both shows are absolutely worth a visit. And if you’re choosing just one, I’d go with Monet and Venice.
Current Obsession
My bestie gifted me a discovery set of perfumes from Marissa Zappas for my birthday (side note: this is an amazing gift for any woman in your life this holiday season), and it’s really the gift that keeps on giving. I’m loving so many of the scents that I’m having a difficult time deciding which to buy a full size bottle of. I did just pull the trigger on Queen Nzinga, but I also want Annabel’s Birthday Cake for a daytime scent & Flaming Creature for a warm, smoky evening scent.
On My Radar

Apres Hours at Chateau Royale (Thursday-Saturday, 10:30PM-2AM)
Oddball, a new East Village cocktail bar
Lore Bathing Club in Noho

Until next week -
