15 things I loved in October:
This tee from Le PÈRE, ideal for watching sports when you don’t care who wins and just hope everyone has fun
My holy grail tights. It’s worth buying 3 pairs at a time, as they usually always have a buy 2 get 1 free promo
This long sleeve tee in any and every color. I love the extra long sleeve
Marie Antoinette (I feel embarrassed to admit that I’m not sure I’d ever seen this movie in full before…and I loved it so much more than I thought I would)
The onion rings at COQODAQ:
The Eynsham Baths at Estelle Manor
Iris Van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses at Brooklyn Museum
Wearing white jeans year round, specifically these ones:
Driving around suburban Connecticut on a perfect fall day with the sunroof open
This brow gel (I’m using the shade Rich Taupe)
This dessert from Bistrot Ha. I don’t remember exactly what it was, but it had chocolate in it, of course:
This goat:
Shopping
Here’s a little peek into my many open tabs this week. Things I’ve been eyeing, adding to cart, and thinking about nonstop. In no particular order:
This insanely chic bag is…Tory Burch?! I’m obsessed. It’s giving Alaia.
Love this lace-trimmed velvet mini dress for fall/winter
The new merino wool knit zip-up hoodies from Comme Si look deliciously cozy
Droooooling over this Kallmeyer blouse. Would look equally amazing with trousers as it would a mini skirt. Versatile, interesting and perfect for any & all holiday parties.
Feeling panicked at how fast these cords are selling out…I think I need to pull the trigger
Mango has some very fun evening bags at the moment: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
I can’t stop thinking about these Prada slingback pumps. And I’m throwing in the matching bag while we’re here.
A really great drapey silk tank
This silly little bear is all ready for winter adventures
Food & Drink
How lucky are we that we can be sitting outside for dinner on a November evening and need to ask for the heaters to be turned off because it’s still so warm out? This happened to me at Saint-Denis the other day. The wine bar-french bistro concept is getting a little played out, but I think this is a great spot - friendly service, solid food, really cozy vibes inside for when it gets too cold to sit outside pretending you’re at a Paris café.
Finally there was no line at Rok the other day, the new-ish matcha spot in the West Village, so I had to try what was crowned the “Best Matcha in LA”. I had the chestnut matcha duo, which was so sickly sweet, it tasted like a cup full of melted matcha ice cream (it had that consistency, too). The quality of matcha tasted good, but I think this place is for people who think they like matcha but in reality do not.
I’ve been so caught up in Mimi’s lately that I hadn’t been to Culture in a very long time. Can confirm it is still the best spot for high quality, very tangy frozen yogurt. At most other spots (Mimi’s included), anything other than original/tart tastes more like soft serve ice cream rather than yogurt — but not at Culture, where their pumpkin and oreo flavors had that very strong distinct yogurt tang to them. 10/10.
